“Mobilizing the Body of Christ to bring in the harvest of souls”
“For the fields are
white unto harvest
and the laborers are
few, very few”
Luke 10 2
The “Great Awakening Tour” is the name given to the soul winning crusades that Dr.
Rodney Howard-Browne, of Revival Ministries International in Tampa, Florida has been
holding all across the USA and other parts of the world. In the summer of 1999, Drs.
Rodney & Adonica Howard-Browne, came to New York City, to conduct one of the
largest soul winning crusades since the 50s.
It began in February of 1998. While conducting a series of meetings in Ozark,
Alabama, Dr.Rodney Howard-Browne , had a supernatural dream in which he was
talking to Dr. Billy Graham. In the dream, Dr. Graham was talking to Dr. Howard-
Browne about a crusade he had conducted in 1957. He had rented Madison Square
Garden for what started out to be a six
week crusade and went for three and a
half months. During this time in New
York, two million people attended the
meeting at the Garden and 55,000
decisions were made for Christ.
The crusade, called Good News New York
ran from July 7-August 14, 1999. It was
six weeks of nonstop soul-winning on the
streets during the day and a soul-winning
service every night at Madison Square
Garden. We spent over $6.7 million to
fund the crusade.
Five thousand volunteers from 36 states
and 22 countries came to share the love
of God with the people of New York City.
We handed out over 13 million tickets, in
eight different languages, with free
admission to Madison Square Garden.
We witnessed on the streets, from the
penthouse to the crack house in all five
boroughs of New York City. We also gave
away 250 tons of food.
And the greatest part of all – we saw
over 48,459 people accept Jesus into
their heart.
Since then, the ministry has conducted
“Great Awakening Tour” crusades in 87
cities across the USA and other countries.

“Great Awakening’s in History”
This revival began with Janathan Edwards (1703-1758) a
Congregationalist minister in Northhampton, MA who came
from a Puritan background. His powerful sermons touched
hearts and brought a holy conviction upon the
congregations. Famous for his sermon, “Sinners in the
Hands of an Angry God” he attracted large crowds and
sparked this new great awakening.
Later George Whitefield, from England, continued this
great awakening, traversing the colonies in 1739-1740 and
saw hugh crowds who were stirred in their hearts to repent
and receive Christ. For more information - Click here.
Then in 1801 under the leadership of a Presbyterian
Minister, Barton Stone, in Cane Ridge, Kentucky, another
great awakening was born. It touched Methodists, Baptists,
Presbyterians and other groups and reached North and
South Carolina and Georgia and was responsible for many
thousands coming to Christ. Crowds estimated at between
10,000 to 20,000 gathered in large clearings and several
preachers, preached from makshift pulpits all around
clearing in the woods. For more information - Click Here
Then in April 1906 under William Seymore, the famous
Azuza street revival began. It was during these meetings
that many Pentecostal churches were birthed. God used all
of these great moves to bring a new awareness of His grace,
mercy and glory. Over the past 104 years, we have seen
many great revivals, like the healing revival in the 40’s &
50’s, the Jesus movement in the 60’s & 70’s and in 1990 a
revival started in Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne’s revival
meeting in Upstate New York. This spread across the
globe and spawned offshoots for revival and a stirring and
hunger that touched countless lives. See www.revival.com
